I am pretty sure we have heard about the Pope just recently lifted up the excommunication of the Marcel Lefebvre and and four bishops through Cardinal Giovanni Battista Re, Prefect of the Congregation for Bishops.

The first time I read the the Decree is from a blog post from Catholic.org, which can be read here, entitled : "Decree of Excommunication of SSPX Bishops Lifted"

I just wonder why a thing is lifted when it does not actually exist "by force of law". It does not exist "by force of law" since we must admit that Mons Lefebvre consecrated the four bishops because there was a state of emergency. Obviously Mons Lefebvre was not theatend by the excommunication by the Holy See because what he is about to do is not for the destruction of the Church rather it is for the benefit of all His flock.

There was no excommunication. Why? because Mons Lefebvre just did what the right thing to do. And yet officials in the Church erroneously signed that he (Mons Lefebvre) be excommunicated because he refuse to adopt the changes. Refusing to accept the changes does not mean he is bad and disobedient. But Obedience is not obedience when it is blind. Let us say a man asked his son to burn their house, should the son obey? Then the son get punished for not burning the house. Another example from same story, during dinner time, no one else is there to cook for dinner but the father dont want him to cook, yet the son still do what he ought to do. Cook! Can the son be punished for cooking? No.

That is the same thing that Arch Lefebvre did. It was so kind of him.

So, i dont believe that excommunication be lifted but I believe that it should be nullified because there was no excommunication going on in the eyes of God.
