I am writing today about a woman who has inspired me greatly for many years, who lived in the early 20th century and, in my humble opinion, should be beatified by Holy Mother Church.  Her name is Sister Josefa Menendez.  Her story is told in many languages, and in English her life is written in a book called "The Way of Divine Love" by Tan Publishing.  Has anyone ever come across the book at an adoration chapel or anywhere else?  I'm not sure how widespread devotion to her is at the current time, but she was a victim soul chosen by Our Lord Jesus to be a victim of both divine mercy and justice, as well as the Messenger of a new appeal of love for the whole world.  Whereas Sister Faustina and her Divine Mercy Chaplet have acheived greater fame (and yet there are reasons to be skeptical of Sister Faustina's encounters), this poor postulate named Sister Josefa Menendez is a model of humble trust in Our Lord for all of us Catholics, even if we are not all called to be victims or even religious life in general.  The authenticity of her life is verified in the details of her obedience to her superiors, physical evidence of attacks by the devil, her overwhelming charity and love of religious life.  All she wanted to do was be a humble sisiter and love the Sacred Heart of Jesus.  Yet our Lord had magnificent plans for her, plans which she corresponded to with fidelity by dictating all that Our Lord told her, including his appeal of love and mercy to the whole world.  She even spent many night in the depths of hell, if you believe the narrative, and lived to write about it and sound the warnings for us pilgrims on earth.  If any of this sounds interesting, I would encourage you to find out more on your own, as I find her life story a never ending source of inspiration.  God bless!
