About me
| About me: | I am into long walks, good food, conversation, the great outdoors, ice-cream, cold beer and plenty of laughter. I also believe that Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth and the Life, in the value of prayer and living my faith the best way I can in a world that often provides a very different message. Enjoying a long lunch with friends, my football team winning, sharing a joke and many other things put a smile on my face.I may have a few grey hairs emerging but I still feel young, am in great shape and approaching what I believe is the prime of my life. I am quite new to the TLM. I believe that Jesus in the Eucharist should be reverenced totally. A few months ago, after much soul searching,I decided that the best path to holiness included attending theTridentine Mass. I have been powerfully drawn to the reverence, orthodoxy and the truth being preached rather than wishy washy "feel-good" homilies lacking substance. The simple things in life bring me the most pleasure - a cycle or walk in the park, a BBQ with a few friends, catching a movie (although I seem to doze off for a few minutes these days in my old age), the roar of the crowd at a football game and music. I am a casual person by nature and feel more at home in a pair of jeans than a suit and tie. I enjoy having a laugh about and discussing the many real life experiences that often have a comical twist. My travels have stimulated me- I have been fortunate to have seen much of the world on business and pleasure. I worked abroad for over 10 years and saw many places through business travel that I would otherwise never have visited. Regular exercise is part of my routine and important to me but not in an excessive over the top way. I profoundly believe in the sanctity and permanency of marriage (Pope Leo XIII, Dum Multa (# 2), Dec. 24, 1902: “It follows then that the marriage of Christians when fully accomplished… cannot be dissolved for any reason other than the death of either spouse, according to the holy words: ‘What God has joined, let no man put asunder.’”). It takes 2 to tango- I welcome and reply to all emails so if you want to know more about me feel free to ask. Perhaps one day we will pray together and play together? |
| Looking for: | It would be nice to ultimately meet that special someone that God has created to be an intimate part of my life (if that is God's will?) . However, in this quite spiritually barren world it would also be nice to make some like minded friends along the way. Someone who places emphasis on prayer, reflection and the Sacraments of the Church but who also fits into the world with a smile and a positive attitude. . |
